Environmental improvement through our local food system
- We will continue our journey as an accredited Sustainable Food Place by working towards achieving the Silver Award.
- We will work with landowners, famers, workers and communities, to support transition to net zero and seek greater food security through low carbon and regenerative farming techniques which restore soil health.
- We will work together with the community and voluntary sector on their plans to unite businesses, community groups, foodbanks and environmental campaigners in a good food movement, which will raise public awareness of food, health and sustainability issues.
- We will work with our Anchor Network and through our own procurement processes to increase demand for healthy, sustainable and local food.
- We will put good food at the heart of our economic development and regeneration plans, to support local enterprise and strengthen local supply chains.
