• We will consider our approach to supporting animals and biodiversity within West Cheshire through developing a new Wildlife Strategy and a continuing our high standards for animal welfare.
• We will work with partners across the borough to identify sites for the re-introduction otters and beavers into natural habits around our waterways.
• We will encourage the implementation of Hedgehog highways to support the protection and survival of the species.
• We will continue to oppose badger culling and working with partners, explore the feasibility of expanding our badger vaccination programme.
• We will continue to work with the Police and other partners to reduce wildlife crime and punish offenders, including poaching and illegal hunting of wildlife.

The next Labour Government will close the loopholes of the Hunting Act to protect animals such as foxes from all forms of hunting.
