• We will have a specific focus on supporting people to get digital skills through our Digital Skills Partnership. We will develop a single pathway for digital skills training and train a network of staff across the borough to be champions for digital inclusion.
  • We will pilot a new digital device loan scheme, delivered through libraries and other community venues, to support residents in need of help with digital skills so they can access services, and gain familiarity with new technologies.
  • We recycle redundant Council computers and mobile devices by working collaboratively with social housing providers and community projects to distribute them to residents who are experiencing digital exclusion.
  • We will ensure that there are dedicated staff in the council who are working with internet service providers and government bodies to tackle connectivity not-spots, particularly in rural and remote communities, where digital exclusion and slow speeds are reducing opportunities for social activity, education and entertainment, and impacting businesses.
  • We will ensure West Cheshire has the digital connectivity, infrastructure and skills to support households, businesses and education providers in urban and rural areas.
