• We will work alongside the NHS and community sector to implement a coordinated approach to social prescribing. Together, we will train people in a variety of organisations to become social prescribing link workers and this network will operate between primary care and the community to promote and engage people in a wide range of well-being activity.
  • We will tackle social isolation through a specialist information campaign targeted at a range of age groups and circumstances which may lead to social isolation.
  • We will continue our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, supporting our local armed forces and veterans.
  • Through our parks, community centres, markets, museums, libraries and Brio Leisure sites, we will deliver support to residents in our borough to access affordable sports, leisure, culture and wellbeing activities. We will also continue to deliver our wildflower and grassland strategy because evidence shows that living in a greener environment can promote and protect good health, and aid in recovery from illness.
  • We will fund a range of initiatives to help local people to live healthier lifestyles, including the Food Active Partner Pledge which commits a range of local organisations to working together to promote healthy weight across the borough. We will also provide targeted advice and support with stopping smoking, managing alcohol consumption, having a good diet and not living a sedentary lifestyle so people can understand the long-term impact on their health and wellbeing.
